Since the beginning of time, human beings have asked important questions about the meaning of our existence and expressed ourselves through arts and culture. Today, we continue to explore the varieties of human experiences, in all its complexities, through the performing and visual arts programmes offered here at Universiti Malaya.
At the Faculty of Creative Arts, we value critical thinking, scholastic excellence, practical learning and creative imagination. We are also invested in creating a suitable environment for your creative requirement, aimed at broadening your intellectual and imaginative horizon. Our graduates will be provided with holistic and transferable skill-sets through a close appreciation of the creative arts tradition of the East and West. Many of our graduates have contributed towards wonderful things, as artists, curators, entrepreneurs, consultants, civil servants, teachers, designers, cultural workers and more.
Our academic staff are scholars who are also industry experts in their respective fields. Many of them are renowned nationally and internationally and committed to inspire you to explore deeper towards understanding the world today. We want you to become independent thinkers and doers not just practitioners among the followers.
Not only will you gain an understanding of the global debates on culture through a critical lens, you will also gain hands-on experiences, practical problem-solving and promising soft skills. We place strong emphasis on getting our students to engage creatively and imaginatively with the world. Our support services and teaching are here to help you realise your dreams regardless of your age, status, or background of studies as long as you have outstanding talents and passion in arts and creativity.
